Enquiry/Advice Calls

We offer free of charge 30 minute telephone calls with a Chartered Educational Psychologist to explore whether our support would be helpful.

For Parents/Carers:

Please call or email and an appropriate time can be arranged. The call will include initial exploration of what has happened to date and whether there are next steps for yourself or school to do. If it is felt that the involvement of an Educational Psychologist would be appropriate, options will be discussed with you.

For Educational Settings:

Please call or email to arrange a 30 minute phone call to discuss your school support needs e.g. support with school SEND provision, staff training needs, other bespoke requirements. These can be discussed and options for Educational Psychologist involvement given.

If wanting to enquire about whether support can be provided for a specific child/young person in your setting, please email initially to request a parent/carer consent form, once the form has been received a phone call can be scheduled. Individual cases will not be discussed without consent from the parent/carer.

If the need being discussed relates to a number of children within your setting, the need can be discussed and next steps suggested for supporting that need, maintaining anonymity of the children it relates to.

Assessment

Assessment is bespoke to the situation and is planned with you through consultation exploring the needs and strengths of your child or the child's school. Each child/young person is unique and existing within a network around them that is unique to them; therefore it is important to us to explore this through consultation and consider the assessment methods that are most appropriate. This may include individual work, observation within the classroom, consultation/conversations with the child/young person, setting staff and parents/carers. It may be that consultation with yourself is enough to generate some initial action points which can be put in to an action plan for review at 6-8 weeks; or it may be that there is missing information that requires further assessment.

An initial consultation is £400, this includes a 90 minute online consultation, a report detailing what was discussed and the action plan, plus a 30 minute review consultation 6 to 8 weeks after the initial consultation.

If further assessment is required this will be discussed and charged as additional to the above. For example, observation and questionnaires will be charged at an hourly rate of £100/hr accommodating write up time; cognitive assessment is charged at £500 for the assessment, analysis and write up.

We offer ongoing involvement where appropriate, for example monitoring and support, therapeutic input and supervision. Prices will vary depending on the nature of involvement and typically charged at £115/hr.

Training, Consultation/SEND Consultancy and Supervision

School consultation for specific children/young people, cohorts of children/young people or school areas of development are carried out in the same way and charged in the same way as the assessment consultation detailed above (see 'Assessment' section).

SEND consultancy on policy, process or provision at an organisational level is charged at an hourly rate of £115/hr.

Prior to agreeing any training or supervision, a 30 minute consultation with your setting SENCo and/or other members of Senior Leadership is required in order to establish the appropriateness of the training and time required, this will also be supplemented by pre-training questionnaires to all staff due to be receiving the training. Training can be provided as full day (6 hours), half day (3 hours) or twilight (1.5 hours) sessions as per the requirements. This is then followed up 8 to 12 weeks later through use of consultation and post-training questionnaires to ensure that the training has been impactful for your setting and provide you with valuable pre- and post- training information for your records.

This is charged at £1300 for a full day, £700 for a half day and £400 for a twilight. This includes the 30 minute initial consultation, preparation time for the training, the training itself and the follow up consultation and questionnaires; plus a short summary report of the training and data collected.

For non-school settings, if the above training/supervision packages do not apply, please contact us for a bespoke package to suit your needs.
